For years, Smart City Memphis was a Blogger blog that was a must-read for Memphis residents interesting in what was going on with the city. In 2009, Green Egg Media was brought on board to create a new blog that didn’t run on Blogger and used that freedom to communicate more of what the blog is all about: Memphis.

Using Wordpress, Green Egg Media built a blog that was customized for multiple bloggers with a focus on Smart City Memphis’ staff posts. Images from Memphis photographer Amy Vanderford were used to give the design a Memphis flavor. Since launching in late 2009, Smart City Memphis has enjoyed a new life as Memphis’ premiere place for discussion and debate over civic and public issues.
