Domain Management Service

Available exclusively to our Web Design and Development clients, we offer a special Domain Management Service package. Our DMS package includes hosting on servers known to run the code that powers your website, up-time monitoring, DNS record maintenance, nightly MySQL backups, and weekly file system backups.

Hosting

Not all hosting is created equal. We have worked with many different hosting companies in the past, so we know which ones will reliably run the code that powers the website we develop for you. As part of our DMS package, we will ensure that your site is always running on a server that runs your code. If anything changes on the server that prevents your site from functioning correctly, we’ll either fix the code or move you to a new server.

Up-Time Monitoring

It’s never good when your site goes offline. Preventing site downtime entirely is costly at best, if it’s event possible. The next best thing is to address any downtime as quickly as possible. At Green Egg Media, we utilize technology that checks to make sure your site is online. If anything goes wrong, a notification is generated and we will look into the issue as soon as possible. Depending on the cause of the downtime, we may not be able to fix the issue ourselves, bu at the very least, we’ll do what we can to help get things back the way they should be.

DNS Record Maintenance

While it is true that your DNS records don’t frequently need to be changed, when they do, it can be a hassle if you’re not familiar with the different types of records and settings. CNAME, A, MX, TTL? Don’t worry - we know what all of these are, and if they need to be updated, we’ll take care of it.

Backups

Data loss can happen, even to the best of us. Did one of your staff members accidentally delete all of the blog entries? Or perhaps a server crash cause some files to become corrupted? Every night, we backup the databases for our DMS customers. If something happens to your database, we can restore a copy that’s never more than 24 hours old to get you back up and running. Once a week, we will also back up your entire file system, so if files are somehow lost or corrupted, we can restore those, as well.
