Would You Do Business with Your Brand?

We are now officially halfway through 2020, a year in which the business world was turned upside down and around again...and it's quite possible the crazy ride isn't over yet.

Without the ability to anticipate what the next 6 months have in store for the business community, it is more important than ever to ensure that your business is ready to pivot, adapt, change, adapt, and pivot again at a moment's notice. Although it may seem counter-intuitive to spend money when nothing is certain about the future, now is exactly the time to be evaluating and updating your business tech solutions and eliminating old, outdated technology and software solutions.

Start where it hits the hardest: what impacts your revenue? Start the process of evaluation with the platforms that directly impact your revenue stream. Platforms like your website, your mobile app, your internal software solutions to manage client data, and relationships are the areas that require the most critical focus because, obviously, your business needs a consistent revenue stream to be successful. Additionally, with the massive shift from in-person ways of doing business to a more digital-first model, your brand needs to have its best face forward.

Your Brand Website & Mobile App

Let's complete a quick exercise, shall we? Pretend that you are not the owner or manager of your brand. Pretend to be a regular Average Joe who just so happens to meet your ideal customer profile and is in need of your goods or services. Eliminate any preconceived notions and visit your website or mobile app as Average Joe. What are your first thoughts?

If your first thought was anything less than a desire to dive deeper into additional pages or to engage further with the brand, it's likely time to make some changes.

The changes you make don't have to be overly complex.

Provide customers with the relevant information they are seeking within the first 8 seconds: who you are, what you offer, how they get it.

Simple text changes to guide visitors to take specific actions can have a significant impact. Tell them what to do and where to go next.

Include clear calls to action to mark the next step in the journey: Purchase Now, Schedule an Appointment, Contact Us, Start Today, etc.

If your brand is in the business of eCommerce, ensure that your shopping process is streamlined from start to finish:

offer guest checkout  don't ask for unnecessary information
offer adequate payment methods  use form validation and error notifications
use a progress indicator to guide the checkout process  enable social sign-in for faster checkout
send a post-payment order confirmation via email

If you're already doing all of that, here's another quick list of things to change immediately to boost the value of your website for your users:

utilize responsive design  eliminate the use of Flash Player
remove blinking or flashing text   reduce page load times

 reduce or eliminate auto-play videos

reduce or eliminate the use of stock photography
provide accessibility features (alt text, for example)  utilize consistent fonts across your website
ensure your contact information is correct   review your SEO keywords and placement
Embrace the use of white space  reduce the amount of text per page
make sure your portfolio is up to date and relevant  remove outdated products/services

eliminate the use of poor quality photos

 remove expired coupons or specials
ensure the contact form works properly

Ensure that your website is performing optimally with a FREE website audit from Green Egg Media. Your website audit report will provide you with information to identify all the factors that may impede your website from reaching your audience in an impactful way.

Your report will break down multiple areas of your website including an overall health check, page analysis, meta-analysis, content analysis, links analysis, image analysis, page load optimization, and usability and technologies. Each of these areas is evaluated and graded based on their performance and then averaged into an overall final score to help you determine the overall performance of your website. Request your FREE website audit report today

Internal Software Systems & Processes

Managing workflow can be a challenge for even the most seasoned business leader. You’re likely dealing with multiple departments, consistent streams of data flowing to and from multiple sources, and a combination of manual and automated processes to get each task done.

As organizations adapt to a new normal of a remote-first or remote-friendly workforce model during 2020, how can leaders manage each process workflow with efficiency when employees are now working in a home-based office?
