When the decision was made in the Diocese of Monterey, California, for advance a Cause for Canonization for Cora, it was clear that MHC needed to start getting some of Cora’s writings into the hands of the public. The name Cora Evans was known to few, and her magnum opus, The Refugee From Heaven, had been read by only a limited number of people. With over two dozen titles that could be published, MHC needed help not only to promote the woman, Cora, but also to get her books into the hands of as many people as possible around the world.

Our Approach

“Only the best quality” has been the focus of MHC since the very beginning. Despite having dozens of manuscripts, the MHC team has always wanted to take their time publishing individual titles in order to be certain that the books were of the best possible quality. At they were preparing for the release of The Refugee From Heaven, Green Egg Media built a custom ExpressionEngine website that would feature information about Cora, news about her Cause for Canonization, and that would allow all future book titles to be sold direct to consumer using the FoxyCart e-commerce solution with Stripe integration. Once the first book was released, GEM leveraged the Shipwire platform to strategically position inventory at three warehouses across the country to reduce fulfillment costs and shipping times. By 2016, all of MHC’s titles in release were available at Amazon, so direct-to-consumer fulfillments were consolidated into a single warehouse in Michigan. GEM actively manages MHC’s Amazon Advantage and Kindle Direct Publishing accounts.

Merchant Analytics

In addition to direct-to-consumer sales, MHC wanted to be able to sell wholesale to other merchants. GEM setup a complete Merchant platform on the website, include back-end Merchant Analytics so MHC can track progress.

Third Party Logistics

GEM leveraged the power of third-party logistics to get books as close to customers as possible in order to reduce shipping times and fulfillment costs. Before Amazon had all of the titles available, books were warehoused in Los Angeles, Ann Arbor, and Philadelphia.

Blog Management

Since books would be released slowly, GEM also launched a new blog for MHC to help build organic traffic to the website. GEM recruited 14 specialty bloggers and actively manages the blog on a daily basis. We post 2 - 4 new blog posts per week, increasing organic traffic and SERPs.
